Purposes and Goals of the Chapel Hill Unleashed Online Newspaper

Chapel Hill Unleashed, Chapel Hill High School’s online newspaper, is designed to be a regularly updated site covering news, sports, highlights, and achievements. The purpose is to inform parents, students, and the community of Chapel Hill news.  It will also contain human interest articles, feature articles, and upcoming events.

The high school press is governed by the same basic legal rights and responsibilities as the professional press. High school journalists have the rights guaranteed in the First Amendment to free expression, such as published items may not contain libel, or obscenity, invade the privacy of individuals, incite or violate community standards of appropriateness. Our legal publisher is SNO (Student News Online).  We are financially self-supported through the sale of advertising and fundraising.
