T.A.F.E. (Texas Association of Future Educators) members participated in the Dallas State competition with over 2,000 other students, under the direction of teacher and sponsor Meshayla Kemp, on March 3-5.

National Qualifiers (who scored in the Top 10 of their competitions) included: Andrea Medina for Public Speaking, – Katelyn Chavez & Vicky Tavarez for Interactive Bulletin Board, as well as Katelyn Chavez & Deziree Kissam for Children’s Storybook K-3. National Qualifiers (who scored in the Top 5 of their competitions) included: Parliamentary Procedure: Zachariah Sustaire, Gabriel Hill, Anthony Nguyen, Katelyn Chavez, Vicky Tavarez, & Jared Sanchez for Parliamentary Procedure.

Gold Certificate winners (who scored 90+) included: Megan Rhea & Brian Arreola for Project Visualize (Appreciation), Keziah Knight & Hillary Crist for Project Visualize (Service), Alan Mondragon & Elexy Gomez for Project Visualize (Educational Awareness), Keziah Knight & Wesley Wilt for Interactive Bulletin Board.

Silver Certificates winners (who scored 80+) included: Dakotah Haltom, Dakota Bonner, Kiera McCall, Adrian Mumphrey, Hatseva Argote for Breakout Session, Iris Leonardo & Kaylie Renteria for Interactive Bulletin Board.

“I am pleased to say that Chapel Hill stood out, and did an outstanding job,” said Kemp. “Please join me in celebrating the following students and their victories.”

T.A.F.E. will compete at the National convention in Washington D.C. later this summer.
