Phuong Nguyen received 2nd place out of 30 artworks selected for the 2022 Congressional Art Show held at SFA on Saturday, Dec. 4th.

She was honored with an official 2nd place certificate and an official 2022 Washington DC Christmas ornament. Nguyen’s work will be hung on the office wall of Congressman Louie Gohmert for one year. Nguyen is also a two-time VASE Regional art medalist, a two-time VASE State Qualifying art medalist, a 2021 State art medalist, and 2021 1st place Art Academic Rodeo medalist.

“Congratulations to this extraordinary young lady,” said art teacher Kimberly Taylor. “She has an amazing gifted talent.”

The Academic Rodeo award ceremony will be held on Friday, Feb. 25th.
