Cross Country members, junior Emery Crayton and freshman Katelynn Chavez, competed in the Regional Meet on Monday, Oct. 25th in Grand Prairie under the direction of Coaches Aaron Steele and David Guajardo.
Crayton advanced to the State Cross Country Meet after placing 2nd out of over 200 male runners while Chavez placed 49th out of over 200 female runners. This is the first time for Chapel Hill to run at State in 20 years.

“Since this was my first year running cross country, I was excited for the upcoming challenges,” Crayton said. “Within the last 400 meters, I gained on the first runner by 12 seconds which made me feel good.”

The 4A state Cross Country Meet will be held in the Austin area on Saturday, Nov. 6th.
