Future educators place at Nationals

CTE teacher and T.A.F.E. sponsor Lori Center took her National Qualifiers to Dallas this past week as their projects were judged for the final round of the Texas Association of Future Educators competition.
Student competitors included Darby Conner, Hilary Crist, Kennedy Fugate, Katie Grace Ibarra, Keziah Knight, Kinsey Ponder, Megan Rhea, and Hatseva Argote.
Conner placed 2nd in Impromptu Speaking, Crist placed in the Top 5 in the Educators Rising Leadership Award Competition, Fugate placed in the Top Ten for CTE Lesson Plan and Delivery Competition, and Ibarra placed 5th in Project Visualize- Service Project with Knight.
“I am so proud of the students and Ms. Center for all of their hard work and accomplishments this year,” CTE Director, Christy Murray said. “I have witnessed all of the long hours the students spent preparing for State and Nationals, and I could not have asked for a better group of students. I am excited to see all the great work they will do next year.”
In addition, Knight will serve as a T.A.F.E. Area Officer for the 2021-2022 school year.
