Track racks up some hardware at Lindale

Track participants competed at the Lindale High School meet on Friday, March 19th under the direction of Craig McFarlin and Aaron Steele.
For the boys events Jayvin Mayfield won the long and triple jump. Pablo Martinez placed 1st in Shot Put, Tre’ Adighije placed 3rd in Shot Put, Mason Mumphrey placed 3rd in Discus, Amorrion Ford placed 3rd in the 300 hurdles. Emery Crayton placed 1st in both the 1 mile and 2 mile. In addition Atlantis Walker, Demarian Sanders, Darrius Dean, and Keilan Tuck placed 2nd in the 1 mile relay.
Overall the Varsity boys placed 2nd with 162 points total and the JV boys placed 3rd with 142 points total.
“After a long day competing Friday afternoon, each and every athlete felt accomplished to run and participate in field events,” Berry said.
For the girls events McKenzie Peery, Kazlyn Houston, Makenzie Johnson, and Kiyah Minor placed 1st in the 4×1 relay. Isceanna Suell, Brenda Pineda Rangel, Peery, and Houston placed 1st in the 4×4 relay. Kealey Herron placed 1st in shot put and discus. Kiyah Minor placed 1st in long jump. Peery placed 2nd in long jump. Kya Cook placed 1st in the 100 meter dash. Kennedy Fugate placed 3rd in the 100 hurdles. Shyla Starks, Ariyanna Lynch, Cook, and Treasure Massenburge placed 2nd in the 4×1 relay. Kayla Brooks placed 3rd in the 400 meter dash. Angelina Acosta, Cook, Starks, andBrooks placed 1st in the 4×4 relay. In the 100 meter dash, Johsnon placed 1st and Peery placed 2nd.
“The entire track team played a huge role in the placings of Chapel Hill in every division,” Peery said. “Both girls and boys came out and supported each other, which really payed off in the end.”
Boys and Girls track teams will compete at Mineola on Thursday, April 1st for their final pre-district track meet.
