Yearbook hosts Prom Dress Event
March 25, 2021
Former Chapel Hill graduate Brooke Dillard founded “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Dress,” a charity where anyone can donate used prom/formal dresses for girls in need. The yearbook staff helped host this year’s event on Tuesday, March 23rd in the high school drill team room.
A variety of donated shoes, jewelry, and dresses were available in all sizes. The yearbook staff began setting up Monday and the event lasted all day on Tuesday from 1st period through 8th period.
“We are so blessed to be able to help girls out around prom season for the third year in a row,” Dillard said. “Chapel Hill has been a huge part of every event; I’m so thankful for the love and support from the community as well as the teachers and staff each year.”
The junior class will continue to sell tickets for this year’s “Under the Tuscan Moon” Prom through Wednesday, March 31st. The Junior-Senior Prom will be held at Villa de Felicita on Saturday, May 1st at 8 pm.
