FFA celebrated the opening of the school district’s first-ever agricultural facility on Saturday’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with Superintendent Lamond Dean, CTE Director Christy Murray, and FFA Sponsor Kenneth Carnes.

The idea for the facility began in 2017 when FFA members wanted a barn on school property to be better equipped for their students in the program. With this facility, students are allowed to keep their animals on site.

“With this facility we can help those kids that don’t know much about the program”, said FFA President Sydnie Murrell. “They can experience things that other kids, with land, get to do since they may not have the room to do it”.

The program is actively working towards future contests to showcase their animals, later this year, in San Angelo and Houston.
