Boys Varsity and JV basketball teams traveled to Bullard High School on Tuesday, Jan. 12th to play their fourth District game this season under the direction of Head Coach Akimba Johnson. They also participated in a fundraiser to support Bullard coach and former Chapel Hill family, Heath Fults, as his wife is battling cancer.

Both teams came together at half court to pray for Holly Fults. Fans from both teams have donated more than $10,000 to their family for financial support during this trying time.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to Holly”, said Johnson. “Coach Fults and I have been friends for a long time, and we wanted to let him know his Chapel Hill family was behind him and that he was in our prayers”.

Throughout the game, the Bulldogs held their own against the Panthers with shooting guard Ahstin Watkins who scored 27 points along with sophomore Tyson Berry who scored 14 points and had 10 assists, leading the team to victory with a 68-63 score. The JV team also brought home a Bullard win with a score of 57-51.

The varsity boys are currently ranked 20th in Division 4A and will play their next home game against Henderson on Friday, Jan. 15th for Teacher Appreciation Night.
