FFA places at Mesquite Rabbit Show

FFA Members showed their rabbits at the Cajuns vs Cowboys Rabbit Show in Mesquite on Saturday, Nov. 7th under the direction of sponsor Kenneth Carnes.
In “Show A” Brianna Humes won Best of Breed with her rabbit ‘Luke’, Laney Smith won 2nd in Class with ‘Fletcher’, and Madison Smith won 1st in Class with ‘Goliath’. Ashlynn Smith won 10th in class with ‘Toby’, 5th in Class with ‘Loretta’ 6th in Class with ‘CCL12’, and 1st in Class with ‘Ridge’. In the “Best Opposite Sex Variety” Ashlynn Smith also won 1st in Class with ‘Fancy’, 9th in Class with ‘Blake’, and 4th in Class with ‘Reba’.
In “Show B” Laney Smith won 5th in Class with her rabbit ‘Fletcher’, Humes won 5th in Class with ‘Luke’, and Gigi Lowe won 3rd in Class with ‘Sooty’. Amber Lee won 3rd in Class with ‘Mocha’ and 8th in Class with ‘Frappe’. Madison Smith won 1st in Class with ‘Goliath’. Ashlynn Smith won 7th in Class with ‘Reba’, 12th in Class with ‘Toby’, 11th in Class with ‘Loretta’, 4th in Class with ‘CCL12’, 1st in Class with ‘Ridge’, and “Best of Variety” 1st in Class with ‘Fancy’.
In “Show C” Amber Lee won 5th in Class with with her rabbit ‘Frappe’. Laney Smith won 3rd in Class with ‘Fletcher’ and 2nd in Class with ‘Mocha’. Jaylon Smith won 2nd in Class with ‘Luck’, Lowe won 3rd in Class with ‘Sooty’, Madison Smith won 2nd in Class with ‘Goliath’. Ashlynn Smith with won 9th in Class with ‘Reba’, 10th in Class with ‘Toby’, 9th in Class with ‘Loretta’, 3rd in Class with ‘CCL12’, 1st in Class with ‘Ridge’, and in “Best of Variety” she won 2nd in Class with ‘Fancy’.
In the Specialty Show Ashlynn Smith won 5th in Class with ‘Toby’, 10th in Class with ‘Loretta’, 7th in Class with ‘CCL12’, 4th in Class with ‘Ridge’, and 2nd in Class with ‘Fancy’.
“Having the opportunity to show so many rabbits has been an absolute blessing,” said senior Ashlynn Smith. ” I could not have done it without my parents and my peers who are always there supporting me. I’m looking forward to our next show in Conroe on Dec. 19th, and I can’t wait to see how my younger rabbits grow and progress.”
FFA students will next travel to Mineola for their District LDEs event which will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12th as well as the Brangus National Show of Merit in Fort Worth and the Jacksonville FFA Fall Shootout both on Saturday, Nov. 14th.
