Cross Country competed at District on Monday, Oct. 26th in Lindale under the direction of Coaches Aaron Steele and David Guajardo.

Varsity girls are Mckenzie Peery, Maria Brown, Brendaly Velasquez, Madison Bradshaw, Kimberly Vasquez, Shannon Zavala, and Shelby Gilleland. Out of 43 varsity runners, the top three for Chapel Hill were Gilleland, Bradshaw, and Peery. JV girls are Isabella Brown and Shania Miller. Brown medaled in the JV girls division with 9th place for the UIL 4A District 16 Championship.

“We plan to have a major come-back next year, after training hard and keeping the energy high”, said Peery. “Cross country can be tough especially will steep hills and muddy courses, but after finishing I always feel accomplished”.

The Varsity boys are Nikolas Galindez, Miguel Brown, Armando Lugo, Deivid Ortiz, Isaac Ortiz, and Edgar Gutierrez. Out of 42 runners, the top three for Chapel Hill were Galidnez, Brown, and Gutierrez.

Out of 13 cross country members, 12 will be returning next year to compete as upper-classmen, and they will resume training this summer.
