CTE students William Brady Bagwell, Francis Morell, and Taylor Hewett have been chosen to intern under CHISD’s Whitney Mayfield who worked to start this program alongside Superintendent Lamond Dean and CTE Director Christy Murray. Photography and Video students applied for the positions with Mayfield who is the Communications and Public Relations Coordinator for the school district.

Bagwell, Morell, and Hewett are working on Public Relations pieces to go out to the Chapel Hill community through Social Media. Their first two projects are to showcase the fall theatre show, “Puffs” which will be presented to the community this weekend as well as the the TJC Promise Day which was held Friday, Oct. 16th. The Tyler Junior College event took place during the school day at the high school auditorium this year. The freshman class individually signed a promise to maintain community service and have passing grades in exchange for a two-year scholarship to TJC upon graduation.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to intern with Ms. Mayfield”, said Morell. “I look forward to gaining experience in a field that I’m passionate about.”

The media intern students will meet again this Thursday, Oct. 29th to begin working on their next assigned piece.
