The Cross Country team ran in the Longview Meet on Friday, Oct. 16th under the direction of Coaches Aaron Steele and David Guajardo.

Runners included Xavier Campa, Isaac Ortiz, Edgar Gutierrez, Nicolas Galindez, David Ortiz, Miguel Brown, Shelby Gilleland, Isabella Brown, Brendaly Velasquez, Kimberly Vasquez, Shannon Zavala, Maria Brown, Madison Bradshaw, Shania Miller, and McKenzie Peery.

Out of 35 girls, Gilleland placed 4th, Vasquez placed 6th, Bradshaw placed 8th, and Brown placed 10th. Out of 42 boys Campa placed 3rd, Galindez placed 4th, Brown placed 5th, Gutierrez placed 6th, and Ortiz placed 11th.

Overall, both Girls and Boys won First Place for the ‘Pine Tree and Spring Hill Mosquito Joe Invitational’ meet.

“I won my 1st medal in the Longview meet and I am proud of myself,” said Campa. “I’m also proud of my teammates for placing 1st overall. Next Up, District!”

The Cross Country Team will run in the District Meet on Monday, Oct. 26th which be held at Texas Rose Horse Park in Lindale.
