Livestock shows are back-to-back

After Chapel Hill FFA broke ground on the new ag barn this summer, construction is in full swing. FFA students are back in competition season as they showed their livestock in the “Mineola FFA Jackpot Show” on Saturday, Sept. 5th and the “Lindale FFA Booster Club Bash 2020” on Saturday, Sept. 12th with sponsor Kenneth Carnes.
In the Mineola show Sydnie Murrell won Grand Champion Brangus with ‘Royal’. Travis Williams and ‘Ginger’ won first in the Limousine Heifers category. Dillon Line won first place with ‘Charm’ and won Reserve Champion Simbrah with ‘Harley’.
In the Lindale-hosted show Alejandro Martinez showed for the first time and placed 2nd in his class with ‘Dream Catcher’. Amber Lee placed 2nd in her class with ‘Bebe’. Ashlynn Smith placed 1st in her class and won Reserve Brangus Champion with ‘Jolene’. Hannah Ritchie placed 2nd in her class with ‘Willow’. Hayden Acker placed 2nd in his class with ‘Shorty’. Madison Smith placed 2nd in their class with ‘Rosemary’. Murrell placed 2nd in her class with ‘Royal’. Travis Williams placed 1st in his class ‘The Simi’. Williams also placed 3rd in his class with ‘Ginger’.
“It was fun being able to get back into the show season with my friends”, Murrell said. “We’re hoping and praying that we’ll get to have a somewhat normal year.”
Select FFA students will exhibit their animals again at the White Oak and Bonham Livestock Show Sept. 26th-27th.
