Under the direction of Head Football Coach Jeff Riordan, the Bulldogs played the Splendora Wildcats on Friday, Aug. 28th. Chapel Hill took control late in the second quarter, after a close first quarter. At halftime they were winning 35-13, and they won the game with a 65-33 victory.
Receivers Amorian “Bam” Ford and Tyson Berry worked together the whole game.
“This is where I came from. Like I’m born and raised. I always wanted to bring back something to Chapel Hill,” said Ford. “I’m starting off on the right page. My parents, the community, the coaches, my teammates, they hold to a highest standard. And I’m trying to fulfill that standard.”
Riordan coached against his brother Matt Riordan, who is Splendora’s offensive coordinator.
“It was definitely a confident boost. The kids trust the plan now that we have in place,” said Jeff Riordan. “They trust the offense and the scheme, the reads and how we do things.”
The Bulldogs will play the Kaufman Lions for Homecoming Friday, Sept. 4th at 7:30 p.m.
