Powerlifters traveled to the Regional Powerlifting competitions under the direction of Coach Charlie Coker the weekend of March 5th-7th.

Tristan Larsen, Jeffrey Reazin, Brayden Price, Max Richardson, Trey Hudson, and Adrian Lacy competed at Henderson High School’s Boys Regional meet on Thursday, March 5th. Ke’shona Berry and Madison Bradshaw competed at Fairfield High School’s Girls Regional meet on Saturday, March 7th.

On Thursday, Price finished the Boys High School Region 3 Division 2 Powerlifting meet 1st place overall in his weight division with a total of 1590 points. He increased his total points by 20 lbs from the previous meet, in Mabank. Lacy finished 3rd place overall in his weight division with a total of 1345 points. Lacy increased his total points by 10 lbs from the Mabank meet. Richardson, although injured, finished his squat at 525 lbs and benched 310 lbs. Hudson finished his squat at 505 lbs. Larsen finished 3rd place overall in his weight division with a total of 1345 points. He also increased his total points by 10 lbs from Mabank. Reazin finished 9th place overall in his weight division with a total of 1285 points and an increase in his total points by 30 lbs from the previous meet.

β€œIt’s such a blessing to advance to State,” said Price. β€œI didnt expect myself to make it this far, but with all the help I had coming in from all my coaches and teammates, it made it that much easier. I’m gonna try to compete the best I can for my school, and represent where I come from.”

On Saturday, Berry finished the Girls High School Region 3 Division 2 Powerlifting meet with a total of 740 points and 7th place overall. She finished her squat at 315 lbs, benched a new max of 125 lbs, and deadlifted a new max of 300 lbs. Berry increased her total points by 20 lbs from the previous home meet. Bradshaw finished with a total of 450 points and 4th place overall. She finished her squat with a new max of 185 lbs, benched 75 lbs, and deadlifted 195 lbs. Bradshaw also increased her total points by 20 lbs from her previous meet.

“It wouldn’t have been the season that it’s been without Coach Coker and Coach Wright”, said Bradshaw. “We will continue to be strong and work hard,” added Berry.

Price will compete in the Boys State Championship Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, March 28th at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene, TX.
