The Lady Bulldogs played in the first round of basketball playoffs against Liberty-Eylau at Hallsville High School on Tuesday, Feb. 18th under the direction of Coach Jeremy Durham.

In the first quarter shooting guard Brittley Maddox shot the first three-pointer and had an aggressive ‘euro step’. Before the end of the half, Freshman and point guard Kya Cook had a steal against the Wildcats in addition to going 100% on the free-throw line.

In the second half, forward Jenea Travier’s free throws tied the game resulting in overtime. Cook made the first score, but the Lady Bulldogs came up six points short in the end.

“This group fought incredibly hard to the bitter end tonight but lost 69-64 in overtime,” said Durham. “I can’t describe how much I’m going to miss these seniors.”

District 16-4A will name their All-District girls basketball players in March.
