The high school Majorettes competed in the East Texas Valentine Twirling Festival with the middle school twirlers on Saturday, Feb. 22nd under the direction of Coach Krystal Miller.

Junior Katherine Adams won 1st place in the Beginner Solo division, 2nd place in Intermediate 2 Baton, and 3rd place in UIL Solo. Sophomore Kyndal Houff won 5th place in Beginner Strut.

Also, competing with Heart of Texas Twirling under the direction of Coach Beth Maddox, was Katelynn Carter. In the NBTA Intermediate 16+ division. Carter won 2nd place in the Intermediate Pageant, 2nd place in Intermediate Solo, 2nd place in Intermediate Strut, 2nd place in the Intermediate Mini-Pageant, and 2nd place in UIL Solo.

“It was a lot of fun cheering each other on,” said Carter. “I am super proud of all the hard work everyone puts in for these competitions.”

Carter will compete again at the Regional Level March 7-8 which will be hosted in Canyon, Texas.
