Softball wins against Frankston

The varsity softball girls beat the Frankston Indians with a score of 16-2 on Monday, Feb. 24th leaving the Lady Bulldogs with a record of 4-1 in their pre-season.

Shortstop Kylei Griffin had three hits, a single, a double, and a homerun with four RBIs. Hope Williams had two hits with 3 RBIs and she was the winning pitcher with a total of seven strikeouts. Catcher Mikaylie Borel had two hits with three RBIs. First Base Karli Finch had two hits with one RBI. Second Base Chandler Day had two hits with two RBIs. Outfielder Shelby Bass had three hits with one RBI.

“We have really grown together as a team and work together instead of as individuals,” said Fincher. “Everyone gives their all and we have the strongest relationships we’ve ever had in softball.”

The Lady Bulldogs will play in the Longview Tournament against surrounding East Texas high school teams Feb. 27th-Feb. 29th.
