Art students traveled to Stephen F. Austin’s campus to compete in the 202 Congressional Art Competition on Saturday, Dec 7th under the direction of teacher Kimberly Taylor.

Seniors, Elida Barron and Codye Taylor previously submitted their 2-D art pieces in November. U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert hosted the awards ceremony in SFA’s Turner Auditorium.

Barron and Taylor were awarded Congressional Holiday Ornaments from the Capitol in Washington D.C.

“It was a fun experience to go and see all of the different art pieces that were submitted,” said Barron. “I felt honored to be one of the few chosen students to attend the final judging.”
