TAFE is going to State

TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) members advanced to State at the All Region competition in Cushing High School on Saturday, Dec. 14th under the coaching of Sponsor Lori Center.
“I absolutely love this group of students and their dedication to this organization,” said Center. “I am thankful for Ms. Willingham and Ms. Gallahan for helping take care of my kids.”
Clarissa Young and Holy Walton advanced for their Chapter Yearbook. Darby Conner and Megan Rhea advanced for their Interactive Bulletin Board Elementary. Keziah Knight and Holly Walton advanced for their Interactive Bulletin Board Middle School. Alejandro Martinez, Natalie Martinez, Sydney Brown, and Yurid Herrera advanced for their Interactive Bulletin Board High School. Steven Metcalf and Jesus Perez advanced for their Project Visualize Teaching. Alexia Morales and Jillian Rhea advanced for their Project Visualize Recreation. Katie Grace Ibarra and Jyovanny Robles advanced for their Project Visualize Education Awareness. Stacey Leon and Natalie Martinez advanced for their project Visualize Service. Kelsey Benitez, Ladonovan Walton, and Kinsey Ponder advanced for their Teacher Created Materials Elementary. Katie Grace Ibarra, Susie Torres, and Stacey Leon advanced for their Teacher Created Materials High School. Alan Mondragon for Creative Lecture. Jared Sanchez advanced for his impromptu Lesson. Darby Conner and Alan Mondragon advanced for their Impromptu Speaking. Katie Grace Ibarra advanced for her Public Speaking, and Natalie Martinez advanced for her State Officer Try Out.
“This was my first time competing in TAFE,” said Torres. “I am so proud of all of us and I’m so glad that all of our hard work paid off.”
The February State Competition will be held at the McAllen Convention Center in McAllen, Texas in hopes of advancing to Nationals.
