Lady Bulldogs prevail over Pine Tree Pirates

All three girls basketball teams won against the Pine Tree Pirates on Tuesday, Nov. 19th. The varsity girls were ahead 13-10 after the first quarter and 26-17 at halftime before outscoring the Lady Pirates 25-15 in the third quarter. Freshman Dae’Jaidence Kincade’s halftime buzzer three-pointer secured a lead. Senior Brittley Maddox had a fast-break points with a steal in the third quarter ending in a layup. The girls kept ahead of Pine Tree in the fourth quarter with junior Tierney Minor’s block and steal against her opponents. Kya Cook and Ty’Liyah Moore led a balanced scoring attack as Chapel Hill took a win over Pine Tree. Cook and Moore had 10 points each. Kincade scored 9 points while Maddox, Natayla Overshown and Kylie Griffin all had 8 points.
The game ended with a final score of 63-36 and the Lady Bulldogs are now 6 and 1.
“This season we are coming for everyone in the district,” said Minor. “Being 6-1 this early on motivates us to keep going.”
The girls basketball teams will play the Edgewood Bulldogs on Friday, Nov. 22nd.
