TSA members traveled to Laneville, TX on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd for their annual TSA Regional Leadership Conference with sponsor Benjamin Dieter. The students were able to hear John Wink, superintendent of schools for Carthage ISD speak on his vision of what it means to be a leader from his book “Excellence in Every Classroom”.
Angelina Acosta, Keilah Knight, Alexia Morales, Manuel Greenlee, and Madison Clark heard Wink speak on what it takes for them to be successful as a student leader in TSA. Afterwards, the students broke out into sessions and leadership building events with other schools around the Region. They participated in five different leadership events ranging from team building challenges to written tests.
“The conference was informative, and the students learned to hone their leadership skills,” said Dieter. “They also had fun building relationships with each other and students from other schools.”
The TSA Regional Competition will be held in February at Longview where students hope to advance to the State Competition will be held in April in Ft. Worth.
