CTE Medical Assistant classes traveled to Tyler’s Christus Trinity Mother Frances clinics on Wednesday, Nov 13th under the direction of health science teacher Rebecca Anthony. Students participated in hands-on activities with doctors and nurses to prepare them for their medical assistant certification tests.

Mayra Angon, Angela Daniels, Bryan Jimenez, Juan Hernandez, Gabriel Galarza, Alexa Chavez, Ashley Rivera, Jailen Perez, Tyliyah Moore, Arianna Godines, Amauri Thomas, Brittley Maddox, Kayla Mosbey, and Magdalena Macias job-shadowed the healthcare professionals throughout the day.

“The medical assistants greatly appreciate the support of our school administrators William Houff and Brad Langley as well as the community partnership with Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital,” said Anthony. ” The students’ feedback was very positive and informative. They learned skills that are required to certify in their medical assistant.”

Students will test at the CTE building in the spring for their certification.
