Choir members attended the Whitehouse All-Region Choir Competition on Saturday, Sept. 28th under the direction of teacher Robert Born. Of those ten, seven students made the All-Region Choir and will be representing Chapel Hill in Carthage on Nov. 9th. Also the top ten singers from each voice part will continue their competition in Lufkin on Nov. 21st. 

Ruben Renteria placed 2nd chair Tenor, Kristian Harris placed 7th chair Bass, Khaiya Drawhorn placed 7th chair Soprano, Jo-Kovin Campbell placed 7th chair Tenor, Kendale Johnson placed 8th chair Bass, David Renteria placed 13th chair Tenor, and Anaylin Zuniga placed 13th chair Bass. 

 “I am hoping to place in the top five at Pre-Area in Lufkin,” said Johnson. “I am putting in my best effort and striving to make All- State Choir since this is my senior year.”

Choir members will travel to All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas on Saturday, Oct. 5th where they will attend the OSU and Dallas Chamber Choir concert. They will get to meet Jon Le Culpepper who is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Dallas Chamber Choir. They will also meet Oklahoma State University’s world-renowned Concert Chorale Conductor and Composer, Dr. Z. Randall Stroope.
