Cross Country ran in their 5th meet of the season on Friday, Sept. 27th in Jacksonville where Jorge Gonzalez and Xzavier Campa both placed. Previously, the team competed at the Pine Tree meet on Friday, Sept. 20th in Longview.

“I won my first medal in the Longview meet, and I felt proud of myself,” said Gonzalez. “It was as if God sent nothing but success my way.”

For the Jacksonville meet, coaches Jeremy Durham and Aaron Steele reported that Gonzalez received a medal after finishing 10th out of 323 runners and Campa placed 14th.

“I tried my hardest and felt accomplished,” said Gonzalez. “I can say without a doubt that this course was the hardest because of the hills.”

The Cross Country team will travel to Gilmer on Tuesday, Oct. 15th for their District Meet in hopes of advancing to Regionals later this fall.
