Math teacher Sara Apperley was chosen as a Teacher of the Month and named Teacher of the Year, by administration vote, for the high school campus.

Apperley has taught 12 years after obtaining a B.B.A. in Finance from UT Arlington and completing her teaching certification requirements at A&M Texarkana.

“It was nice to have my efforts acknowledged”, said Apperley. “I was surprised”

Apperley will be recognized at the District-Wide Awards Assembly in early June where the Teacher of the Year candidates will learn the CHISD Teacher of the Year.
