Cross Country races towards District
September 8, 2018
Cross Country competed in the Robert E. Lee Meet at UT Tyler on Saturday, September 8th. The team is coached by Jeremy Durham and Aaron Steele with over 20 members. The boys and girls both ran in their groups consisting of more than 100 runners each.
Sophomore Angelina Acosta came in 8th place, in her group, and advanced to Regionals.
“I can’t wait for what’s to come”, said Acosta. “I couldn’t have accomplished what I have without encouragement from my teammates and the love from my Lord and Savior.”
This is Acosta’s second consecutive year to advance to Regionals in Cross Country.
“We’re having a great cross country season so far with students placing”, said Steele. “Coming in the top half is quite an accomplishment and I wish Angelina good luck as she represents our school at the next level.”
Acosta and her coaches will travel to the Regional Meet which will be held in Dallas on Oct. 22nd.
