Ag grows a grant

Tractor Supply Company and the National FFA Foundation have awarded the school’s CTE AG program with $4,731 for the project, “Chapel Hill FFA Livestock Facility”. CTE has added $5,000 to budget for the new barn the students plan to build in April.
“It’s overwhelming because of the opportunities we will have,” said senior Kaitlyn King.”It will open up a whole new world to the community and future FFA students.”
In order to apply for the grant students had to plan what they wanted to build, by figuring the amounts for each product and materials needed to build the future barn. The organization also had to explain in the application how it would benefit the students.
“The benefits would be good because the students animals can stay at the school, and allow hands on learning,” said freshman Ashlynn Smith. “This will also present the ability for us to raise animals for livestock shows.”
