CTE students traveled to Sam Houston State University to compete in the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) State competition, on February 17th, under the direction of sponsor and Ready Set Teach teacher, Lori Center.

TAFE competitors included Caroline Carnes, Karissa Gibson, Maria Aparicio, Natalie Martinez, Armando Sanchez, Summer Lewis, Anna Nguyen, Roni Railsback, Jaysia Maples, Haliegh Sanders, Joseph Marinez N’Kima Browning, Neymi Espinosa, Dora Moreno, Alexis Wells, Stacey Leon, Clarissa Young, and Tatyana Webb.  Maples, Moreno, Sanchez, Railsback, and Gibson all received 1st place blue ribbons in their categories.

Carnes was elected Historian for the entire state of Texas; she will be traveling to Orlando, Florida this June to represent her state with the other 3 students who were elected officers.
