CTE Programming, Robotics, BIM, and Gaming have completed certifications and competitions throughout the spring semester under the instruction of teacher Mark Kennedy.

Students Isaac Frayre, Sydney McKnight, Angexia Morales, Jeffrey Reazin, and Kristen Rivers received their Microsoft Office Specialist certifications while Jarrod Carter, Osber Gonzales, Chris Hedricks, Juan Lopez, and Alexis Sanchez completed their courses in AP Computer Science in Java.

“I am very proud of my students’ progress in many areas. Our robotics lab is beginning this year and they are learning programming concepts”, said Kennedy. “Also, Computer Science is on track to do better than we ever have at Regionals, this spring.”

Dylan Mathis and Haden Saenz competed at the Regional level for Video Game Design in Technology Students Association (TSA) on March 19, and both advanced to the state competition.

“I’m so excited for State,” Saenz says. “I’ve been working hard on my game for most of the year, and I am proud that it’s grown so much.”

Mathis and Saenz will compete in the TSA State competition on April 16, along with advancing CTE engineering students, in Fort Worth.
