UIL academic team members attended the Rains High School invitational meet on March 3rd under the direction of coordinator Amanda Adair.

Haydee Guittierez won 2nd place in Ready Writing, coached by Arlie Bice. Patrick Bradley received 3rd place and Alexis Sanchez received 4th place in Accounting, coached by Amanda Adair. In poetry, Key’ayra received 3rd place, Hannah Ritchie received 4th place, and Eddie Jones received 5th place and they are coached by Julie Westerman. Ezra Patterson received 3rd overall in Science and Ritchie received top freshman and top team award under the coaching of Samantha Butler. In computer science, Sanchez received 4th place, Juan Lopez received 6th place, and as a team they received 2nd place team with Osber Gonzalez, coached by Mark Kennedy.

“These guys are really hard workers and they did really great. They are improving with every practice and every competition”, said Kennedy. “We should win District”.

The UIL District competition will be held on Wednesday, March 21 at Spring Hill High School to qualify in the Regional meet.
