Basketball boys beat buzzer

The boys varsity basketball team challenged the Gilmer Buckeye’s in a district game for a spot in the playoffs this past Friday. They scored 38 points in the first half and 12 points in the 3rd quarter.
Seniors Devin Taylor, Parker Roe, and Quinzarius Daniel scored three-pointers and totaled 37 points while Cade Williams scored a total 11 points. Freshman, Teon Erwin made 18 points total and hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer, with 4 seconds remaining, making the final score 68-66.
“I just feel like if I made the stadium proud, then I made everybody proud”, said Erwin. ” I had to do what I had to do, and I felt so excited”.
The win puts the Bulldogs at a district record of 6-1. After playing Spring Hill on Tuesday, the Bulldogs will face the Tatum Eagles in the first round of Playoffs.
