The band program broke another record at the Region 21 UIL Solo and Ensemble on Feb. 10. A total of 80 students traveled to Lindale High School to compete where they brought home 89 medals, out of a possible 120.

“I was excited that I received a first division on my class 1 solo and can’t wait to compete at State Solo and Ensemble” said senior, Tyler Autin.

The previous record for the band program included 56 medals, and 21 state qualifiers. On Saturday, 44 students qualified for State where they had to memorize and play a Class 1 piece from the solo and ensemble lists.

“The band directors are all very proud of these kids” said Head Director, Joseph Hewitt.

The Pre-UIL Concert will be held in the Terri Procell Bowen Theater on Thursday, March 22nd.
