Deputy Superintendent, Lamond Dean was named Interim Superintendent for the Chapel Hill Independent School District on November 13, 2017.  Dean will assume the duties of the CHISD Superintendent of Schools at the end of the state-mandated 21-day waiting period.

“I am incredibly honored to be given the opportunity to lead CHISD,” said Dean. “CHISD is a school district with a very diverse culture.”

Dean replaces Dr. Donni Cook, who is serving as Emeritus Superintendent until June 2018.

“As the leader of CHISD, my goal is to recognize and respect various cultures and encourage every student to achieve their full potential,” said Dean. “I am excited for the future of CHISD”.
