Students score six medals in Lindale meet

UIL students competed in another meet this past Saturday, January 13 at Lindale High School. Six students out of the twelve that went, placed and received medals. The next invitational meet is Saturday, January 20th at Whitehouse High School.
“I think the students we took did awesome,” said UIL coach and coordinator Amanda Adair. “However, I would like to see more involvement from lower classmen. I’m excited to see how we do at the invitationals and virtual meets coming up.”
Samantha Sibal and Haleigh Sanders competed as a team in CX debate and were awarded 6th place. Individually, Vanessa Gonzales won 4th in Computer Application, Alexis Sanchez placed 4th in Computer Science, and Dylan Mathis placed 6th in Current Issues and Events. In addition, Jesus Villarreal Anchondo received a 2nd place medal in Science, as well as the top Biology score.
“I was very excited to have placed,” said Gonzales. “I am looking forward to District.”
The UIL Academic team will compete at the Whitehouse practice meet this Saturday, January 19 as their final chance to prepare for the March District Tournament at Spring Hill High School.
