Art students submitted pieces to the Academic Art Rodeo in early December. Keilah Knight, Sarah Ashlyn Smith, Tony Lugo, Drew Thormer, Jesus Villareal, Ezra Patterson, Caleb Otte, Anna Nguyen, Zamare’a Dunn, Payton Wages, and Sydney Jackson were awarded for their pieces.

“Mrs. Taylor and I are very proud of our artists who entered into the Academic Rodeo.” said art teacher, Mark Dahlgren.

Knight and Otte received 2nd place titles while Smith, Dunn, Lugo, and Thormer all received Honorable Mentions.

“This was a very interesting competition and I was excited when my rooster piece placed.” said Lugo.

The judging was held in December regarding the art pieces that were displayed in the East Texas State Fair. The luncheon, where they will recognize the winners,  will be held February 23rd.
