The Journalism UIL Team traveled to Lindale High School on November 30, 2017 for a writing workshop in preparation for this year’s UIL competition season.

Mayra Vasquez, Alyna Barrientos, Jennifer Thornton, Madi Gore, Stephania Andersen, Caleb Otte, Jayden Lee, Vanessa Gonzalez, Mirna Zolorzano, Kristy McGaughey, MaKayla Clements, Jazmyn Starks attended with advisor, Jessica Otte.

“We learned different strategies and we’re feeling really good about the upcoming competitions,” Barrientos “It was a fun experience and we made new friends from other East Texas schools .”

Students will be competing at the Lindale UIL practice meet in January in hopes of placing and winning medals before their spring District meet.

“I’m really proud of these kids and all the hard work that they have put in over the last few years,” said Otte. “We are excited for the 2018 UIL season.”
