Samantha Butler was awarded teacher of the month for December 2017. Butler has been teaching for a total of nine years, but has been on Chapel Hill grounds for seven years. She teaches Chemistry, and is the UIL science coach at Chapel Hill High School, along with the AP Coordinator.

“I was unnaturally excited,” said Mrs. Butler. “I’m honestly happy that I was awarded.”

She was born and raised in Ohio, she later attended Ohio State University. It was there that she received her Bachelor’s in Biology and Chemistry and her Master’s in Secondary Science Education.

“7 years ago I set this as my goal,” said Mrs. Butler. “Now I can finally say I achieved my goal.”
