Texas High School Bass Association opening tournament was at Lake Palestine on September 23. There were multiple teams who participated including the first team of Brady Johnston and Derick Beard, the second team of Glenn Smith and Max Richardson, the third team of Austin Savering and Quintan Carr, the fourth team of Gus Morris and Hunter Moseley as well as Kara Pinkerton under the sponsorship of Nurse Joy Johnston.

“We had three teams who caught fish, but only one was enough to place”, said Joy Johnston. “We are off to a great start”.

Richardson and Smith placed 18th out of 137 boats with their 9 lb 6 oz limit.

“I was surprised that we got 18th place out of so many, but I feel like we can do better in the next tournament,” said Richardson.

The next tournament will be at Lake of the Pines on October 21st.
