Culinary Arts visits Dallas food show

The Culinary Arts program traveled to Dallas for the Ben E. Keith food show on Wednesday, Oct. 4th. Students traveled with teachers Leslie Rasco and Margaret Reyna to experience a trade show with industry professionals. The culinary group also had the chance to try food from many countries around the world.
Nictaveon Davis, Cierra Hill, Payton Wages, Tateonna Thompson, China Blalock, Lamya Green, Serenity Johnson, Ashley Moretti, Dafne Ortiz Vargas, Stephen Anderson, Caleb Wages, Itzell Fernandez, Victoria Bell, Alicia Bishop, Kimberly Sanchez, Nicholas Rush, Jesus Torres Velasco, Mayra Vazquez Berrones, Benjamin Justice, Michael Sutton, Nathaniel Johnson, Kobe Holt, Jessie Rivera, Iiracema Romero Almarez, and Amy Gomez Ochoa attended the field trip.
“The cafe students had a blast with culinary classes at the food show. We are so thankful we were allowed to go and discover new products for our programs”, said teacher Margaret Reyna.
Following a wedding catering event on Oct 13-14, culinary is hosting a BBQ Cook-Off Competition in conjunction with the Parent Action Team Committee on Oct 26-27.
“It was really cool to see how all of the other chefs prepared their specialties,” said student Caleb Wages.
