The Texas High School Bass Association Regional tournament was held at Lake Sam Rayburn Saturday, April 17. Two Chapel Hill teams consisting of Bryce Smith and Trey Amirault and Glenn Smith and Dalton Green competed.

“Our teams did very well,” said sponsor Nurse Joy Johnston and husband Randy. “We are so proud of both teams for their great effort and for advancing this far. It was a great first year for our fishing teams.”

There were over 200 teams who participated from the East and Houston divisions for Largemouth Bass. Smith and Amirault caught nearly 9lbs as a team and Smith and Green caught 6lbs.

“It was a very tough year,” said Amirault. “But I had a lot of fun competing for my school even though we didn’t advance to State.”
