On Saturday, February 4, Highlighters competed at the SFA Dance Team Contest at Stephen F. Austin State University. To the contest they took an Officer Jazz routine, Team Pom routine, and Team Contemporary routine.

“We have a few little things to polish to make the dances even better,” said Erica Fossey. “… but all in all I think the team did amazing!”

For those routines, Highlighters were awarded Division I for team, Division I for officers, Innovative Choreography Award for Team Contemporary, Technical Excellence Award for Team Contemporary, Precision Award for Team Pom, and overall highest scoring routine for Team Contemporary.

“The feedback from the competition made us a stronger team and helped us prepare for our next competition,” said Delores Kimmel.

Highlighters next competition will be held in Kilgore on February 18.
