Choir students visited Whitehouse High School on January 28th to participate in the Vocal Solo and Ensemble competition.

The students who received a rating of 1 and will advance to state are Maya Reazin (Alto 1/Soprano 2), Kendale Johnson (Bass 1), Ruben Renteria (Tenor 1), Caleb Otte (Tenor 2), Samantha Sibal (Soprano 2), Alesha Lewis (Alto), and Mariah Higginbotham (Alto).

The students that received a rating of 2 were Montel Hood (Bass 1), Kerantay Wideman (Bass 2), Eddie Jones (Tenor 1), and Itzel Fernandez (Alto).

State Solo and Ensemble was held in Pflugerville on May 27th through the 29th. All students who previously advanced with a 1 competed.

“We had a fun time and I enjoyed watching the expressions on their faces as they received their individual results,” said Choir Director Vincent Flieder. ” I plan to push them even further next year because I know they are capable of more.”

Higginbotham scored a three. Renteria, Otte, and Sibal scored twos. Johnson scored a one.
