TJC ‘Promises’ scholarships
October 10, 2016
There will be a meeting held on Tuesday, October 11th in the Terri Bowen Auditorium for all freshman parents about the new TJC Promise Program.
This program is an opportunity for eligible high school graduates within the TJC tax district to earn scholarships. Beginning in 2020, qualifying graduates can receive up to two years of tuition and fees at TJC.
Students, along with their parent or guardian, must sign up during the fall semester of their freshman year in high school. If you missed this deadline, it is not too late to sign up, as long as you are in the TJC district.
All students that applied must come back November the 15th and must sign a pledge stating the criteria needed to be met such as: grades, behavior, and community service. Everyone who meets the requirements will be presented a scholarship through this program. Even if you move, the scholarship is still available to you, as long as you are still in the district.
“I think its a great opportunity for our students,” said Principal Hogg. “I know a lot of our students with financial need could get possible scholarships.”
