Reazin rewarded as Outstanding Soloist
August 26, 2016
Over summer break, Maya Reazin earned the distinguished honor of being recognized as an “Outstanding Soloist” from the University of Interscholastic League.
“Every once in a while, a judge believes that a student possesses skills beyond that of a gold metal,” said Dr. Ward. “[They] bestow an outstanding soloist award, which is the highest award for a high school soloist in the state of Texas.”
There were 100,000 students in UIL and 25,000 musicians that performed at the TSSEC (Texas State Solo-Ensemble Contest). Of that, only 2%-3% of the solo performance received this award.
“As long as you do something you are passionate about, you can always do your best,” said Reazin.
