Senior, Griffin snags scholarship

Cheyenne Griffin was awarded with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Area Go Texan Scholarship. This particular scholarship is worth 18 thousand dollars.

Griffin submitted her application February 18 and found out through email on May 9th. She will be awarded the scholarship Friday, May 20, at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Scholarship Banquet in Houston, Texas.

“Receiving this scholarship is such an honor, and means that all the hard work has really paid, especially for my family who have supported me through it all,” said Griffin, “This scholarship, is not just about the money, it tells me that I am seen as having potential for the future of our society. I am extremely blessed, for this is just the beginning of my dreams coming true. I am a Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2020! I will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall to major in Animal Science, with the goal of becoming a large animal veterinarian.”
