UIL students spring to 2nd place at Spring Hill District Meet

On April 6, 2016 at Spring Hill high school, students competed to place in UIL Districts.

For Accounting,  Michael Tang received 1st, David Doty placed second, Chase Miller placed fifth place and as a team they placed as second with the help from their coach, Cindy McKinley. In Calculator Applications, freshman, Vasiqua Syeda placed fourt and Tahsin Bari got fifth place and their coach is Bob Walsh. In Current Issues and Events, Kelly Krenek got first place, Chase Miller got second place, and Deborah Paredes got fourth place. They were the first place team and they’re coached by Arlie Bice. In Computer Applications, Mason Skidmore got first place, Vanessa Gonzalez got second place, and Leo Reyes got fifth place. They were the first place team and they were coached by Mark Kennedy. In Computer Science, Michael Tang got second place, Alexis Sanchez got third place, and Jared Carter got fourth place. They were the first place team and they are coached by Mark Kennedy. In Informative Speaking, Alesha Lewis got first place and is coached by Shari Ellsworth. In Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Alesha Lewis got first place and received Top Speaker award , Carlos Flores got second place, Payton Wages got fourth place. With the helpl from their coach, Shari Ellsworth. In Literary Criticism, Javier Pizarro got sixth place and is coached by Julia Dahlgren. In Mathematics, Michael Tang got first place and Tahsin Bari got second place. They were the first place team and their coach is Bob Walsh. In Number Sense, Michael Tang got third place and he is coached by Bob Walsh. In Persuasive Speaking, Samantha Cox got third place and Osvaldo Campos got sixth place and are coached by Shari Ellsworth. In Poetry, Maya Reazin got fourth place and she is coached by Tina Lawson assisted by Julie Westerman. In Prose, Samantha Cox recieved first place and also is coached by Tina Lawson assisted by Julie Westerman. In Science, Tahsin Bari got first place and the science team got first place and are coached by Samantha Butler. In Spelling, Litzy Aparicio  got sixth place and she is Coached by Alicia Herron.

Anyone who is placed first, second, or third as a team or individually is advancing to Regionals which is taking place on Friday, April 22 through Saturday, April 23.
