Bice recognized for impact on students
January 10, 2016
Arlie Bice was honored by staff when he was awarded Teach of the Month. He has been teaching for nineteen years but only three at Chapel Hill.
“I started teaching because I was that student who felt like I was connected to school,” Bice said. “I appreciate the teachers who help students feel connected and I want to be that teacher as well. I’m hard on students because I care. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t show I do. Even if I don’t show I care I really do. I want my students to succeed.”
Bice has taught at public and private schools in addition to college level courses. He has a MA in History and have recently completed his Educational Leadership Certification from the UT system.
