Junior Cale Caruthers  participates in fishing tournaments for Arp High School. On October 3, 2015 Caruthers competed with partner, Hudson Daille, at Lake of the Pines reservoir on Big Cypress Creek and placed 32nd out of nearly 200 boats. Caruthers and Daille are allowed to fish with Arp, with permission from the school, and are apart of their team since Chapel Hill does not have one. “I have always loved fishing and I got hooked on bass fishing,” Caruthers said. His hobbies include hunting and football as well. “My greatest challenge, in fishing, is when I feel rushed at the end of a tournament and I haven’t gotten the weight of fish that I need,” Caruthers said. “I am always motivated to succeed”. Daille and Caruthers will compete again at Lake Tyler on March 5, 2016.
